Below are a few examples of projects I've worked on in the past. Please note: I am only responsible for the
front-end build and integration of each site and do not claim any of these designs as my own.
Me, my life & my work
My love of computers started way back in 1995 when my parents made the purely awesome decision to buy a computer. Not many kids in my class had a PC at home back then so I consider myself pretty lucky that my parents thought having one around would be an alright idea. If I had to make a list of my top five life-influencing moments, pulling the bed sheet off that brand new computer back in 1995 would definitely make the cut.
Back then, I just wanted to play games and browse the internet. After a while though, I became curious about how those things worked. I then discovered programming and from there I was hooked. What started out as dabbling in HTML and CSS in school lead to studying computer science, web development and interactive design at tertiary level. I now work full-time as front-end web developer in Christchurch, New Zealand and love (almost) every minute of it.
My core focus is on building beautifully crafted websites but I’m also very passionate about interface design and usability. That’s not to say my day-to-day doesn’t involve variety though! One day I might be quoting jobs, discussing projects with clients and coding up a responsive website. The next day I might have to turn around and learn AngularJS to build a prototype app. That’s the thing I love most about working in the web industry though - there is always a new challenge waiting just around the corner. I love to learn and in that respect, there is no better place for me than the web.
